BIDA: Wilkens Slough Pump Lowering Program

To help improve operation reliability in dry and drought years and with the need to address temperature management requirements, the US Bureau of Reclamation initiated the Wilkins Slough Pump Lowering Program (WSPLP) to lower pumps in the Sacramento River between Colusa and the Fremont Weir. WSPLP aims to ensure that irrigation pumps remain functional during lower flow scenarios, providing increased flexibility for Sacramento River operations while maintaining reliable water delivery to Sacramento River Settlement Contractors.
