RD1500: Update on the Karnack Pumping Plant Project

We are excited to announce that we have moved our watershed plan through the National Watershed Management Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. We are responding to NWMC staff’s comments on the plan. We are aiming to finalize our response by the end of January, which we will then be submitting our plan to USDA officials in Washington, D.C.  Once we finish this step, we will be working with Congress to approve funding for the project. We are estimating the project to cost $65-million. It is expected the National Resources Conservation Science funding will cover about 95% of the project.
