Funding on Hold for Infrastructure Upgrades through Water Savings Commodity Program
Grant funding has been placed on hold as the new federal administration is placing their appointed people in the Department of Interior. We hope to move forward soon with the work plan that was submitted back in December of 2024.
On October 31st, the Sutter Mutual Water Company signed a grant agreement with the USDA for $15 million. This is a no-cost share grant, which means there is no district match for the dollars awarded. The funds from the Water Savings Commodity Program will be used to update and modernize existing facilities, such as the Tisdale Pumping Plant, and other water reuse facilities. Sutter Mutual Water Company was one of four water districts in California selected for the funding.
